There are beauty products that may be good, but which you never buy again. There are only a few that you look for and buy several pieces of to stock at home.
These are the beauty items you hoard because they are so reliable, you can’t settle for an alternative. You just have to have them in your vanity kit.
I tend to buy multiples of them whenever I can. I tend to have at least one in my bag and one in my vanity.
I know some of you have the same relationship with these special beauty products. Do we have common items on our list?
Hoard-worthy
My first hoard-worthy item is the Lancôme Grandiôse Liner. This has a dip pen that can be bent, making it easy to achieve a winged eyeliner. This product comes in multiple shades, but I have at least five of the Jet Black, as it’s very matte and a true black.
Next is the Ardell Duo Lash Adhesive. When the occasion calls for it, I use false lashes and I find that this brand sticks best and for a long period. The variant I prefer is the one that dries clear, so it’s easy to hide the line in your liner and mascara.
With this adhesive, I use the Dolly Wink False Eyelashes in #14 Natural Cute. They don’t overpower the face and just make your eyes seem more open.
It’s a must-have for women who, like me, don’t have a lot of lashes to work with. I buy it when I’m in Japan with another product: the minty eye drops that refresh the eyes and bring back a bit of life. Very useful when you have long days.
One of my go-to lip products is the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Lip Luminizer in Fenty Glow. I’ve written about it, so you can tell how much I love it. It suits every skin tone, so I hoard it as gifts to friends. If you’re not a fan of glosses, this might change your mind as the formula isn’t sticky and it doesn’t have an excess amount of glitter.
Facial sprays are in my bag every day. I switch between the Caudalie Beauty Elixir and the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with aloe, herbs and rosewater. They help in setting your makeup so it stays longer, looks less powdery and blends into the skin. I also use them throughout the day when I need to freshen up or when I need to cool down on a hot day. You can get these at Sephora!
Sponges are also a favorite beauty necessity. They help blend your base, and for cream and liquid makeup. I have a lot in my kit and I tend to buy more whenever I see a brand I like.
Top lipstick
For lipsticks, the top one is always Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick. I hoard two shades: Bond Girl and Very Victoria. These moisturizing lipsticks sit well on the lips and are in shades that suit almost any occasion or outfit.
Since we don’t have Charlotte Tilbury here, I either hoard it when I’m abroad or I have friends buy it for me on their trips. They end up buying a tube for themselves as well!
I’m a fan of the Jane Iredale Retractable Brow Pencil, so Rustan’s alerts me when it’s back in stock. These pencils are travel-friendly as you don’t need to sharpen them. Plus, they have a spoolie brush on one end, making it easy to achieve brushed and full brows.
I have another Jane Iredale favorite, and that is the PurePressed Blush in Flawless. It looks natural on the skin, as opposed to sitting on top of your cheeks unnaturally.
The Lucas Papaw Ointment is something I can’t go without. I have several tubes ready, as it’s a multi-use product. You apply it to heal chapped lips, as well as other dry bits on your skin. It can also be a touch of gloss on top of a matte lip.
