MANILA, Philippines — Mark your calendars, moviegoers!

As vacation time is just around the corner, the Intramuros Administration (IA) is up for an unusual treat for everyone to beat the heat this summer — the movie lineup of this year’s Intramuros Open Cinemas, slated this April.

In a Facebook post on Monday, the IA, an agency attached to the Department of Tourism, said it will have the outdoor film screening of the documentary film “Honor: The Legacy of Jose Abad Santos” on April 6, and the critically acclaimed musical drama “Ang Larawan” on April 7.

“Honor: The Legacy of Jose Abad Santos” tells the life story of the former Chief Justice Jose Abad Santos, who was part of the guerilla forces during World War II.

Meanwhile, “Ang Larawan” is based on National Artist for Literature Nick Joaquin’s three-act play, “A Portrait of the Artist as Filipino”, which narrates the tale of two impoverished sisters who agonize over whether or not to sell a painting, the final masterpiece of their father.

The agency also said those interested should check out the Facebook event pages of each film for the booking of the tickets.

The screening is made in partnership with the Philippine World War II Memorial Foundation and Culturtain Muscat Productions., Inc., in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the IA.
