We got this idea from our friends at Bersi Gyros at the Salcedo Market, who had wanted upbeat sounds while their customers waited for their orders of shawarma and kebab. What they did made the place sound like it had a very big speaker system.
You will need:
1 small Styrofoam cooler or ice box
1 empty cardboard egg crate
1 piece of cloth, like a face towel
Scissors
Small speaker
Turn the cooler or ice box on its side. Take off the lid.
Cut the egg crate to fit inside the cooler box.
Fit the crate inside the box.
Lay the cloth or towel on top of the crate. This will provide a more even surface for the speaker and add an acoustic barrier.
Place your tiny speaker on top of the crate.
Play your music and watch what happens.
Tip: For a cooler look, decorate your box with stickers, fabric or drawings!
