Villamor celebrates ‘Primavera (Spring)’
“Enchantments” by Ombok Villamor

Rustom Cleofe “Ombok” Villamor’s exhibit, “Primavera (Spring),” consists of works that are abstract explorations of his own personal voyage as reflected in the passing moods of spring.

For “Primavera,” Villamor uses flowers as visual metaphors connoting transitoriness, delicacy, fragility and vitality

Villamor’s take on flowers in spring is not only a naturalist exploration but also inner reflection, a metaphorical journey.

His paintings are organic narratives depicting the rich dynamism and energy of life. This is keeping with the artist’s own naturalist disposition, especially since he is attached to the shores of his native Samar. The paintings are most reminiscent of sea-life—a direct link to the artist’s roots—but they also celebrate the vitality and abundance of other life-forms.

Villamor has gained recognition from a variety of award-giving bodies, such as the 002 Art Petron National Student Art Competition and 2015 GSIS (Government Service Insurance System) Art Competition.
