Super finds at the Book Binge Bazaar

Book Binge Bazaar is happening in Cebu and Manila.

Icelanders have a beautiful Christmas tradition that Filipinos could easily adopt.  It is giving books as gifts during the holiday season. We know that it’s still summer and Christmas is eight months away.  But that does not mean we can’t start shopping books now as gifts to our godchildren, friends, family and yes, even to ourselves. National Book Store’s Book Binge Bazaar gives you a perfect reason to do just that.

Super was given a sneak peek of what’s in store for shoppers.  We found that the second floor store of National Book Store in Quezon Avenue was divided into school supplies section and books section.  At the paper section, we found Kikki.K Adhesive Notes Set at P217 from P1,095, Disney pens at P24 from 209, and Assorted Venzi notebooks at P54 from P269.  Other office supplies such as clipboards, push pins, and envelopes are at 60 percent off.

There is a price verifier located near the escalator.  They come in handy if you want to check the promo price of an item or you want to compare it with its original price.

Children’s books go for as low as P75.  For that price, we spotted Annie Graves’ Nightmare Club series (“Dr. White”, “Brain Drain Baby”, “Guinea Pig Killer”, “The Hatching”, “Mirrored” and “A Dog’s Breakfast”), “The Adventures of Tintin: Prisoners of the Sun”, and “The Amazing Bible Factbook for Kids”.  The choices are plenty like sticker books, story books, and activity books also go for that price.

Shinobu Ohtaka’s “Magi” volumes 1-10 are available at P175 each.  Other Japanese manga can also be found at that price like Hiromu Arakawa’s “Silver Spoon”, Satoru Takamiya’s “The Blood-tied lovers” vol 1 and 2, and Saburuichi’s “The Legendary Hero is Dead”.

We found fiction titles at P275 like Matthew Palmer’s “The Wolf of Sarajevo” (we discovered some copies were signed by the author), Kim Harrison’s “The Undead Pool”, Liz Tuccillo’s “How to be single”, James Franco’s short story collection “Palo Alto”, Danielle Steel’s “Pure Joy”, David Gibbin’s “The Gods of Atlantis”, and Nora Robert’s “Mind over Matter”.
