QUEZON CITY, Philippines — A student from Cagayan de Oro was hailed the fairest teen in the country on bagging the 2019 Miss Teen Philippines crown in ceremonies staged at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City on Wednesday night.

Nikki de Moura bested 30 other aspirants from different parts of the Philippines to become the latest ambassador for teenagers in promoting “global readiness through education.”

Completing the winners’ circle are first runner-up Patricia Beerda from Western Visayas, second runner-up Nicole Borromeo from Cebu, third runner-up Mikki Barcela from Albay, and fourth runner-up Joanna Kalkschmidt from Iloilo.

De Moura received her crown from Nicole Villar, who won the pageant’s last edition five years ago when she was only 15 years old.

Youth Empowerment Through Education (YETE) Foundation acquired the pageant rights from its founders and revived the competition after a five-year hiatus.

Miss Teen Philippines is the country’s premier search for young, beautiful and smart teenagers. Considered as the platform for the youngest beauty queens, the contest prides itself of the high standards of its own pageantry, rarely seen from the institutionalized contests.

It showcases not only the stringent task to find Filipino beauty across the regions, but also highlights the communication, modelling and societal immersion training of every teen to become future beaty queens and leaders of the country.

The 2019 Miss Teen Philippines coronation program will have a delayed telecast on ABS-CBN on Sunday, May 19.
