Singaporean beatmaker Fauxe is performing in Makati

Tomorrow is a big day for everyone in love with atmospheric beats–may this come in admiration or creation. One of Singapore’s most successful and inventive beatmakers is making his way to the local stage. Fauxe will be debuting his latest album Ikhlas at DULO, MNL tomorrow (Jul 12).

Ikhlas” is a Malay word that translates to “sincerity” or “purity,” which Fauxe undoubtedly incorporated in his album and continuously does so in his creative career. His latest work is a collection of 16 playful, experimental tracks which are somewhat nostalgic. Fauxe roots inspiration from having spent insightful times in Malaysia regarding his sound, and this pays homage to the country’s spectacular music scene.

The artist refreshingly presents traditional samples with modern hip hop twists, psychedelic lifts and dance beats. 808 bass grooves, trap-patterned high hats, trippy synths, ground shaking kicks, indigenous percussion instruments, acoustic guitars mixed with a multitude of diverse samples let listeners experience a world unknown to the common ear.

He is able to let listeners experience heaps of different vibes and cultures by doing what was daring–modernizing the traditional.

Fauxe’s tracks are notably numerous and various in both tempo and genre. Through this, he is able to let listeners experience heaps of different vibes and cultures by doing what was daring–modernizing the traditional. He does this so without appropriating, but through admiration and ikhlas.

Catch Fauxe perform alongside Metro Manila’s own prolific musicians tomorrow, including Similarobjects, Nights of Rizal, Jason Dhakal and more. Check out the poster below, and know more about the event here.
