LOOK: Judy Ann Santos opens restaurant in Malate

MANILA, Philippines—It is safe to say that Judy Ann Santos’ restaurant Angrydobo is a hit as dishes sold out during its soft opening in Malate, Manila on Tuesday, May 14.

Located along Taft Avenue, Angrydobo is Santos’ labor of love as she created the menu herself, she said in a video posted on her official Facebook page on Wednesday, May 15.

The actress is seen in a red shirt and a black apron with her hair tied up as she bustled to and from the kitchen.

The restaurant has a black and red industrial motif, while lovingly aggressive quotes like “Mahalin kita d’yan eh!” (I’m gonna love you!) adorn the ceiling, glass panes and staff shirts.

Pictures from the soft opening were also shared on Santos’ Facebook page.

Santos welcomed customers from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. with her husband on hand to assist. Ryan Agoncillo mentioned in the video that in that time, their supplies meant for two days were “wiped out.”

The word “angrydobo” is inspired by a batch of adobo Santos whipped up years ago when she and her then-boyfriend Agoncillo were in a fight.

Needless to say, she still served the delicious meal with love, Agoncillo recalled in a February Instagram post.

Perhaps to drive home the point that the food is served with love, the restaurant’s door handles are in the shape of a heart while dishes are set on heart-shaped wooden blocks.

Both Santos and her husband share a passion for food; the actress has a cooking show online called “Judy Ann’s Kitchen.” (Editor: Abe Cerojano)
