MANILA, Philippines — Avon Morales, the first Filipino woman to be proclaimed Mrs. Asia Pacific Global, said other mothers and wives should view the crown on her head as a symbol of beauty, both “in and out.”

After winning the title late last month in Malaysia, the Filipino beauty queen threw a victory party at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza in Manila on June 2 to share her triumph with the people who supported her journey.

There, she said: “We women have beauty, in and out. Let’s all showcase that beauty. This crown symbolizes that beauty.”

She added: “This crown symbolizes my life purpose. Everything I do revolves around my life purpose.”

Morales also brought home the awards for Mrs. Elegance, Mrs. Photogenic, and Mrs. Social Media. She was also named as a special ambassador for the global pageant.

She said that even before joining the national search, her first ever foray in the beauty pageant scene, community service had been her mission.

“I will intensify my advocacies,” Morales, a former Rotary Club president, said.

Her crown, she said, made her even more determined to push for her company’s own corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

“I want all six subsidiaries to adopt their own CSR programs. I have been pushing that since I got in the company,” Morales said.

She added: “This crown is not just for the pageant, it’s for a cause.”
