London-based Filipino pianist Inna Montesclaros will hold a recital at the Francisco Santiago Hall in the BDO Corporate Center in Makati on July 28 at 4 p.m.

Montesclaros has just earned an Advanced Piano Diploma, with a First (Distinction) from the Royal Academy of Music in London—in addition to a master’s degree in piano under the tutelage of Ian Fountain from the same school. She got her bachelor’s degree in piano performance at the Royal College of Music in London with Ian Jones as mentor.

She is a leading concert pianist in the Philippines hailed for her expressive ability to communicate her passion for music through warm, articulate musical tone.
Her program consists of: Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Sonata No. 30, Op.209,”; George Enescu’s “Suite No. 2 in D major”; Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s “Dumka in C minor, Op. 59;” and Modest Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition.”

Dubbed “Classics for a Cause,” the recital is presented by the Lamdag Foundation for Women’s Project, Inc. in cooperation with BDO.

Sally C. Monteiro, president of the Davao Development Board Manila Chapter of the Lamdag Foundation, said the concert seeks to raise funds for the construction of the Dayao Center in Davao City. It will house the foundation’s development activities for female students, young women professionals, housewives, and women helpers (kasambahay)— Southern Mindanao.

In Manila her teachers were professors Cecile Basilio-Roxas and Raul Sunico, the latter at the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music, where she spent two years of study as recipient of the Santo Domingo Scholarship.
Montesclaros garnered major awards in Manila and international piano competitions in Malaysia, Vietnam, South Korea and Germany. She performed in London, Chile, Italy, Netherlands and United States, apart from giving regular concerts in Manila.—CONTRIBUTED
