MANILA, Philippines — Team Philippines will be parading in style as hosts of the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games later this year.
World – renowned fashion designer Francis Libiran shared on his Instagram account on Monday the Philippine team’s official barong design.
“Francis Libiran proudly releases the designs of the official parade uniforms for Team Philippines at the 30th Southeast Asian Games,” Libiran wrote as caption.
One side of the barong’s shoulder and sleeve are designed with sun rays. The collar, on the other hand, has shades of blue and red.
“Depicting the vibrant colors and meaningful symbols of the Philippine national flag, these designs of the famous Barong Tagalog presents a modern take on the Philippines’ national garb,” Libiran said.
“Created using delicate Philippine fibers and materials, these designs celebrate pure Filipino pride,” he added.
