Alden Richards is having the time of his life. Besides his steady hosting gig in the longest-running afternoon TV variety show in the country, he’s riding high on the record-smashing box-office success of his new movie, “Hello, Love, Goodbye.”
And while this moment is a blessing for any young actor’s career, it also comes with demands that are unforgiving: long shoots, packed schedules, constant traveling, and media interviews, all of which Alden deals with on an almost daily basis.
“’Yung biyahe… Yung lipat-lipat ng schedule especially ’pag jam-packed, lalo na kapag kailangan puntahan, ’yun ’yung medyo tiring,” says the 27-year-old actor who’s currently promoting “Hello…” and taping “The Gift,” his latest series for home network GMA 7.
Outside of show business, the “Eat Bulaga” cohost indulges in activities he enjoys. “I work out a lot, I go hiking ‘pag may free time. I travel din when I can.”
Health enthusiast
Ever the health enthusiast, Alden takes precautions to protect himself against sickness. “Exercise talaga,” he says. “Having a healthy body, eating right, tapos taking vitamins and bringing medicine just in case makaramdam ng initial symptoms.”
Still, the long hours and constant moving around can take a toll on him. “I get headaches, coughs and colds as well,” he says. “’Yun ’yung common sa akin, mabilis ako maapektuhan, even before I started in show biz.”
To address early signs of illness, “I’ve been using Neozep,” says Alden, who sat down with To be You after his live Facebook livestream for Watsons, Asia’s leading health and beauty retailer.
Alden’s role on Watsons’ Facebook livestream is part of the store’s “Keep Yourself Protected With Watsons” campaign, whose aim is to promote staying healthy and keeping your body strong against illnesses brought by the rainy season—such as cough, colds, fever, skin diseases, skin and hair damage, and worse, pneumonia and tuberculosis.
With all its leading brands participating, Watsons offers card members discounts, free personal accident insurance and a chance to win up to P1 million worth of Watsons shopping points.
There will be 24 winners of 5,000 bonus points, 18 winners of 10,000 bonus points, 10 winners of 20,000 bonus points, six winners of 50,000 bonus points, and two winners of 100,000 Watsons Card bonus points, which can be used to shop again at Watsons. —CONTRIBUTED
