Here’s a simple fly trap that we discovered at a friend’s horse farm.

You will need:

Cut 1/3 of the plastic bottle off the top.
Place your food bait inside the bottom half of the cut plastic bottle. Keep in mind that the more attractive the bait, the more flies you will catch.

Place the top third upside down into the bottom half. Tape it in place.

Place your new fly trap in a place not too close to your food or guests but close enough to attract the flies that may be on their way.
Tip: This contraption works well with the dreaded mosquito!

Measure around the bottom of the bottle and cut to fit the dark paper and tape around .This is mainly to keep the dead flies that will be captured from being seen.

For bait:
Mix 1/2 cup warm water and 1/2 cup brown sugar
Pour into the bottom half of the bottle.
Sprinkle 1 gram of active yeast on top. Do not mix. It will bubble and react naturally.
Tape on the top half.
