Hilton Manila’s makes its triumphant debut at the 10th edition of one of the most prestigious culinary competitions in the country today – The Philippine Culinary Cup (PCC). The gastronomic affair was held at the SMX Convention Center last August 7-10, 2019.
The hotel was well represented in the professional division by over fifty of its most talented and skilled Chefs under the tutelage of Senior Sous Chef Lord Carlo Bayaban, supported by Executive Sous Chef Patricia Mesina and led by Executive Chef Dennis Leslie. Among the victorious participants who were awarded Gold medals were Chef Ma. Jan Cyrile Baraquiel and Chef Robert Caulian under the “Young Chefs Team Challenge”; Chef Shellanie Sanico and Chef Maria Rhea Santos for the “Green Protein Challenge Competition”; and Chef Lumen Caacbay for her stunning Chocolate Show Piece.
Team Hilton Manila earned a total of 30 medals (3 gold, 12 silver and 15 bronze) under several competitions throughout the four-day cooking showdown. This year’s series of unique competitions included Filipino Cuisine; U.S. Beef, Poultry, Lamb and Pork; Creative Breakfast; French Touch; Sous Vide; and the Wedding Cake challenge among others.
