Chef Reggie Aspiras explores unusual street foods in latest show ‘What The Food?!’

“As you get to know your own food, you get to know your own self better,” says Chef Reggie Aspiras, a renowned cook, writer, and teacher in the culinary industry.

Chef Reggie, who continues to share her love and passion for food through her widely-read food column in the ‘Philippine Daily Inquirer’ entitled, “Kitchen Rescue,” her socio-civic involvements, cooking classes, local culinary heritage and international food tours and books, among others, has recently launched a one-of-a-kind food show dubbed ‘What The Food?!’—“wherein the impossible becomes possible, your non-favorite food becomes your favorite food.”

In the series, Chef Reggie ventures out into the streets of Manila to find unique street foods and adds her own spin to them as she lets her guests try these exotic dishes, proving that street food isn’t only about delectable local flavors, but also about the experience of eating the unusual.

For the pilot episode, Chef Reggie heads to Quiapo to meet longtime street food cook Mary Ann and recreates one of Mary Ann’s specialties for Dr. Vicki Belo, who gets candid about her favorite dishes, the latest in beauty, and more.
