One brand that I’m starting to be a big fan of is Kora Organics. You may be familiar with the brand because of its founder and CEO, model Miranda Kerr, who created the brand in her homeland, Australia.
The brand’s approach to its various products is very specific. Everything that goes into the product is well-thought out and follows Kerr’s love for organic beauty.
They harness the power of noni fruit which “is a superfood used for healing the body both inside and out.”
On top of that, Kora champions organic and natural ingredients such as jojoba oil, aloe vera, essential fatty acids, herbal extracts, essential oils, plus Vitamins A, C and E.
Kora is also certified by Cosmos, a global agency that has strict guidelines for creating organic products.
Kora products do not contain nonorganic ingredients like sulfates, parabens, synthetic fragrances, synthetic colors, TEA (triethanolamine), DEA (diethanolamine), glycols, silicones, PEGs (polyethylene glycols). They are also ethoxylate- and formaldehyde-free, cruelty-free and vegan. The label also sources environment-friendly materials for the packaging.
Crystals
I also find it quite unique that they energize their formulations with rose quartz. Kerr is reportedly a big fan of the crystal. She carries one in her bag always, holds one during meditation, and keeps another under her pillow.
At Kora Organics, which launched in 2009, they emphasize that crystal is “believed to carry a soothing energy to encourage love and acceptance of ourselves and others.” Kerr has been using crystals long before it became a trend.
When I was in Australia earlier this year, I picked up the Noni Lip Tint. I highly recommend it. It contains beetroot juice that treats, nourishes and deeply conditions. It also has certified organic noni and licorice root, cocoa seed and cupuacu butter for hydration. The red tint, which goes on sheer, can be used as a blush for that natural look.
Another pick, which Kerr used on her wedding day is the Balancing Rose Mist. She uses it after cleansing. You can also use it as a makeup setting spray or to just refresh you on a hot day. It contains rose flower water, geranium oil, hibiscus and noni extracts.
If you want to truly dive into Kora’s fascination for the noni fruit, try the Noni Glow Face Oil. It uses organic noni extract, rosehip oil, pomegranate oil and sea buckthorn oil that smoothens and nourishes the skin. It’s advised for use day and night as a healing treatment for the skin.
Holistic
You can tell how Kora Organics has a holistic approach to skin care, as they also carry the Body Exfoliator. The gel-based product has bamboo stem extract and diatomaceous earth to slough away dead skin cells. Aloe vera is used to calm the skin. It’s important to exfoliate as you need a clean surface before you can apply other products so your skin can absorb your chosen oils and lotions.
You can build a body routine with their Essential Body Wash, Enriched Body Lotion, and Sun-Kissed Glow Body Oil, all of which are blended with essential oils for you to achieve healthy skin.
Kora Organics also has the Heart Chakra Aromatherapy Oil. You can use this as an alternative to perfume. The aromatic essence, said to be Kerr’s personal blend from supercharged oils, is made to “invoke, nurture and empower the energies of your heart chakra.”
On my next trip to Australia, I look forward to stocking up on Kora Organics. If you’re also going Down Under, stop by Mecca Cosmetica. They have a curated selection of brands, including Kora Organics, that could open you up to other labels you may not even have heard of.
