#ABSCBNBall2019: The nice and the nasty, according to Hindy Weber

If there’s one thing that’s more entertaining than the ABS-CBN Ball itself, it’s Hindy Weber’s downright honest fashion review —”a pure organic dose of fashion history, education, and judgment,” as she puts it. This year, as the ball’s theme is ‘Modern Filipiniana,’  the entrepreneur and designer started off with a brief history of Filipiniana (If you think Imelda Marcos invented the terno, you better educate yourself STAT). Before you scroll down on what we’ve culled from Hindy’s Instagram stories, here are a few reminders from Hindy herself:

  1.  To all the fans, please don’t send me death threats. I love your celebs (well, most of them) as much as you (ok, maybe not) but I just want to elevate the red carpet caravan in our country. Kaya walang personalan!
  2. Not my job to credit the designers, photographers, tag celebs, or even remember all their names. It’s not easy to gather but FYI, most are from ABS’s own feed, the celebs themselves, PEP, Rappler, Metro, and StarStyle.
  3. Who am I? Definitely not a celeb, not a reporter, basically a nobody who loves fashion as much as you. So please refer to #1.

Let’s begin, shall we?

#1 KNOW YOUR FILIPINIANA.

#2 NOW, FOR THE TRENDS — A SLIT HERE, SOME FOOD INSPO THERE…

Thigh-high slits left (and right)

‘The way to do a slit or a one-shoulder terno or pretty much everything #EulaValdez’

Seeing red (and other punchy hues). P.S. Who knew we’d get a dose of microbiology too?

Some gender fusion from these bold individuals.

#3 WHAT WOULD A RED CARPET SCENE BE WITHOUT CELEBRITY COUPLES?

#4 LUCKILY, THERE WERE SOME BEST-DRESSED DUOS.

#5 WE’VE GOT THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE…🙈

#6 THEN THERE’S THIS…

#7 DON’T FRET AS THERE ARE MORE WHO SIMPLY KNOW HOW IT’S DONE. 👌

That’s all for now, folks. Till the next round of, as Hindy would say, “the good, the bad, and the fugly.” Cheers!
