The Embassy of Chile recently celebrated the 209th anniversary of the Republic of Chile.

In attendance were members of the Philippine government, diplomatic and consular corps, Chilean nationals, and friends of the embassy. Guests had the chance to enjoy wines from different Chilean vineyards and a variety of delicious Chilean specialties.

In his speech, Ambassador José Miguel Capdevila highlighted that two major global events, Asia-

Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) Summit and COP 25 on Climate Change Summit, were to be held in Chile this year. He also expressed his enthusiasm for the deepening of bilateral relations between Chile and the Philippines and for the country’s support for Chile as a development partner of Asean. —CONTRIBUTED
