Netflix stars Debby Ryan and Dallas Roberts wear Randy Ortiz, Patty Ang, Vania Romoff

Debby Ryan and Dallas Roberts, stars of the Netflix show “Insatiable,” were in Manila last week to promote the show’s second season, which started streaming Oct. 11. They were spotted wearing Filipino designs.

The American actors were reunited with guest star Gloria Diaz who flew to Atlanta earlier this year to shoot her scenes.

Diaz’s daughter Belle Daza hosted a welcome dinner where the stars wore clothes by Filipino designers.

Roberts wore a charcoal gray piña barong made for him by Randy Ortiz. “I loved it,” he said.

“My 15-year-old son, who is extremely cool, image-conscious and way cooler than I will ever be, it was his birthday yesterday. So I sent him a photo of Debby and me to show him what I was doing on his birthday. And he was like, ‘Oh my god, how do you look kind of cool?’ It’s Randy Ortiz.”

According to Ortiz, the barong used suksok embroidery from Visayas.

Ryan wore a Dione top and Meyer skirt by Patty Ang.

“The brocade top has a corset-style bodice, a figure-flattering silhouette, a scoop neckline and butterfly-inspired sleeves for a modern Filipino touch,” Ang said. “The skirt has a pencil-cut outline and a beautiful layer of ostrich feathers on the hem.”

“I loved it, the shape and the homage to the butterfly sleeve was nice,” Ryan said. “It was subtle and very fashion… I love fashion. To me, to be able to come here and experience the culture for the first time, it was super important to get to know the local designers and also traditions and local silhouettes… I really felt like I got to kind of have that nice bite of the culture in this gorgeous scale.”

Ryan also wore a Vania Romoff dress for a shoot with Inquirer.
