TAGUIG CITY, Metro Manila, Philippines — The most beautiful mother in the Philippines has been proclaimed, and she is Mariz Songcuan from Pangasinan.

Songcuan, a sales executive, bested 24 other aspirants for the 2019 Mrs. Philippines Globe crown in ceremonies staged at the Marquis Events Place at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig on Sunday, Oct. 13, six months after the national search’s 2019 edition was launched.

She received her title from 2018 Mrs. Philippines Globe Ann Acuña, who represented the Philippines in the Mrs. Globe pageant in China.

The international competition will once again be staged in China in December and Songcuan is expected to leave for Shenzhen next month.

The national pageant also proclaimed the 2019 Mrs. Philippines Globe Classique from the 44- to 55-year-old bracket — Julieta Mirasol, an accounting manager from Pampanga.

But she will be competing in the 2021 edition of the Mrs. Globe Classique in the United States.

In an earlier interview, Mrs. Philippines Globe CEO Carla Cabrera said that the Philippines’ representative to the classique category would be given two years to prepare.

The Philippines will be represented by Ivy David in the 2020 Mrs. Globe Classique pageant.
