For one night only, Hilton Manila’s upscale Shanghainese restaurant, Hua Yuan – Brasserie Chinoise in collaboration with Wine Depot, invites foodies and wine enthusiasts alike to an evening of great food tastefully paired with exquisite wines from Shaw + Smith. The exclusive selection of wines will be paired with a 5-course dinner menu, specially crafted by resident Chinese Chef Kevin Xu.
On October 23, 2019 (Wednesday), guests and avid restaurant patrons can indulge in a majestic feast of modern and refined Chinese specialties made from premium and locally-sourced ingredients of the highest quality. The gastronomic journey starts with signature delicacies such as drunken chicken served with wasabi flavored black fungus and jellyfish; codfish with century egg soup paired with Shaw + Smith’s Sauvignon Blanc.
For the main course, Chef Kevin and his culinary team have meticulously prepared a trio of delectable entrées: 1) Sweet and sour yellow croaker with pine nuts and wok-fried sea asparagus with celery and lily bulb paired with Shaw + Smith Chardonnay; 2) Braised pork belly “Hong Shao Rou” with eggs, stir-fried kalian and mushroom in oyster sauce paired with Shaw + Smith Pinot Noir; 3) Braised beef short ribs with shanghai fried rice paired with Shaw + Smith Shiraz. The evening then ends on a sweet note with a decadent serving of coconut cream jelly with taro balls and peach gum.
