Ian Penn is releasing a collection of poetry and songs

Filipino singer-songwriter Ian Penn dropped fuzzy yet comforting track “Recurring Dream” two months ago. On Aug. 13, he announced on Twitter that he is publishing a chapbook, What Happens To A Dream? Vol. 1, this coming Saturday, Aug. 18, in Angeles City, Talér.

The upcoming collection of poetry and songs were written during his 100-day local tour. Similar to “Recurring Dream” which was recorded via a 4-track TASCAM cassette, we’re expecting raw yet powerful tracks. He wrote on Twitter, “I’ve written some poetry and songs when we were on tour. All the people I met on the road, all the hallucinations, the good and the bad and the wild things that ran so fast.”

Upon announcing the event date, Ian also dropped a video on the making of What Happens To A Dream? Vol. 1. Albeit barely hitting the two-minute mark, we see the painstaking yet cathartic process of the project. The artist recites fragments of his poetry, which assuming from the glimpse, talks about intimacy of relationship with both humans and the natural environment.
