Russia Day was recently celebrated at Makati Shangri-La.
The celebration was attended by numerous prominent VIPs, including Foreign Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. and Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, as well as other political figures, members of the diplomatic and consular corps and various representatives of the social and business elite.
The reception started with an a cappella performance of the national anthems of Russia and the Philippines by the New Era University Glee club.
This was followed by a concert with Filipino and Russian musicians performing Russian classical and folk music. Special guest stars were Ivan Koshcheev and Kirill Komariv from the Moscow State Conservatory.
The reception ended with handover of a token of friendship between the two countries. —CONTRIBUTED
