Go bold with your beauty

It’s easy to see why the “no-makeup makeup look” is so popular. It gives off this clean, fresh and youthful vibe, plus it stays true to the old adage, “Less is more.”

But there are instances when more is better when it comes to makeup.

Here are four vibrant makeup looks to boost your most basic OOTD.

Inverted green eyeliner

Want to put a new spin on the classic eyeliner? Try inverting it! Instead of starting the wing on the upper lash line, start on the lower lash line, as if you’re drawing a check mark.

Dab or stamp your fave green eyeliner from the inner corner of your eye all the way to the outer corner. Have the green liner as close to the lash line as possible. As you reach the end, gently flick it up to finish the look.

Lightly smudge it with a cotton bud and top it with eye shadow that’s the same shade as your eyeliner.

Bolder hues

This look screams “Go big or go home!” If you’re into intense eyes and bold lips but don’t want to look too cartoony, grab an emerald-colored eyeliner, rim it around your upper and lower lids and smudge it. Pair it with an equally bold-colored lipstick such as fuchsia or tangerine.

Colored mascara’s cute contrasts

Today’s mascaras come in a myriad colors. Accentuate your lush lashes with purple mascara and pair it with a burnt orange eye shadow for contrast. Keep the rest of your makeup subtle so the focus remains on your pretty peepers.

Crease liner

There’s so much you can do with your liquid eyeliner apart from the classic flick. Try this: Apply a liquid eyeliner (of any color) on to your eye crease or the fold of your eyelid. This is extremely tricky and needs the steadiest hand for application.

If your hand’s shaky or if you’re unsure of where to initially place the line, use a flesh-tone pencil liner first as an outline. Once you’re satisfied with the line you have created, gently retrace it with your preferred liquid liner. Wait for it to dry thoroughly before opening your eyes.
