Condé Nast Johansens’ newfound gem: Fairways & Bluewater Boracay – a leap forward

Right after Condé Nast Traveler declared Boracay as the Best Island in Asia, Fairways & Bluewater, a homegrown Filipino resort brand in Boracay was handpicked to be included in Condé Nast Johansens’ exclusive and prestigious list of 300+ top luxury resorts in the world. Condé Nast Johansens is the foremost leading, most trusted and legitimate London-based reference guide for luxury hotels, spas and venues around the world.

Fairways & Bluewater being one of only three resorts in Boracay selected is proud to have garnered such a distinction. This has given the resort the opportunity of showcasing its world-class amenities and facilities. Occupying 1/8 of the total land area in Boracay, Fairways and Bluewater boasts 835 rooms, seven swimming pools, over 20 food and beverage outlets, and two private beaches.

2019 has been a phenomenal year of milestones for Fairways & Bluewater Boracay. It started with its recognition as the first and only Boracay property to obtain three ISO certifications in one swing among which are the ISO14001:2015 Environmental Management System, ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System and ISO45001:2018 Occupational Health & Safety Management System certificates (ISO-IMS).

After the ISO-IMS certification, Fairways & Bluewater Boracay became the first and most significant Boracay partner of WWF Philippines. To join the fight against Single-Use Plastics (SUPs) and promote environmental conservation and sustainable tourism, Fairways & Bluewater has committed 700 new ‘Earth Warriors’ to be part of this endeavor

Aside from being a consistent recipient of various awards from prominent international online booking partners such as Booking.com, Agoda, Ctrip, Expedia, Interval International and Hotels.com among others, Fairways & Bluewater was also voted as Best Golf Hotel in the Philippines by the World Golf Awards for 5 years.

To cap this year off, four outstanding employees from Fairways & Bluewater were declared as finalists in the recently concluded 24th Mabuhay Awards Night held last November 18, 2019 at Manila Marriott Hotel. The prestigious service awards are given to the outstanding men and women in the hospitality industry that have demonstrated Filipino values and have showcased significant contributions to their respective hotels and resorts.

The four finalists, Catherine Marcelo (Manager Category), Antony Villamora (Supervisor Category), Errol Villanueva (Heart of the House) and John Rey Peralualia (Front of the House) were chosen among a pool of thousands of equally capable and competent nominees from hundreds of participating hotels and restaurants all around the country. They were screened and selected by a panel of judges from various sectors in the hospitality industry through intensive interviews and background checks. The four finalists have successfully passed all rigorous screenings.

GM Marcelo said “This experience has given us the privilege to represent our homegrown Filipino brand, Fairways & Bluewater Boracay. The determination of our people to provide world-class customer service and create a unique guest experience is the foundation of the recent successes we have just accomplished.”
