Globe-trotting couple on breakup: Forever friends, forever grateful

MANILA, Philippines – A couple who became famous for their adventures around the world may have ended their relationship, but it did not stop them from expressing their mutual respect, admiration and appreciation for each other through heartfelt messages.

Chelsea Kauai and Sam Kolder exchanged notes on letting go as they announced their split over Instagram.

“Sam and I have decided to part ways,” Chelsea captioned Tuesday a series of photos and video clips from their trips.

“The last two years have been a dream for me. I have had the rare and extraordinary privilege to travel to every corner of the earth, to share a home, and to create art with someone my soul recognizes as its counterpart. We have taken in the very best parts of each other and it’s hard to put into words what it’s felt like to love and be loved so fully,” Chelsea added.

Sam  revealed they have broken up months ago but opted not to disclose the reason “because there is no simple answer to that question.”

“The past 2 years with this human have been the best years of my life,” Sam said.

Despite their split, Sam said he will remain grateful for what they had as a couple and what they have now as friends.

“My love and respect for you has grown to heights I hadn’t known existed before you came into my life and although we are parting ways, that love and respect will always remain. So thankful for the memories we’ve shared and the friendship we continue to share,” he said.

Sam and Chelsea earned a huge following, with over 800,000 and 1.5 million followers respectively, after sharing their adventures on social media.
