Malls set month-long, nationwide March 2020 sale to boost tourism | Lifestyle.INQ

MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Tourism (DOT) announced on Wednesday that, in partnership with mall operators, a month-long,. nationwide Philippine Fun Sale will be held in March 2020 to further boost tourism.

 

Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said the DOT has partnered with SM Malls, Ayala Malls, Megaworld, Vista Land, Robinsons, SSI, Shangri-La and Powerplant Malls for the March project.

 

“By March, we will have the first Philippine Fun Sale. For the first time, lahat ng malls magsasama sama — SM, Ayala Malls, Megaworld, Vista Land, Robinsons, SSI, Shangri-La, Powerplant Malls, lahat magsasama, lahat magkaka one-month sale sa March,” Puyat said during the Kapihan sa Manila Bay forum.

(By March, we will have the first Philippine Fun Sale. For the first time, all the malls will come together — SM, Ayala Malls, Megaworld, Vista Land, Robinsons, SSI, Shangri-La, Powerplant Malls will hold a month-long sale in March.)

 

“We noticed that all of them have been helping us individually so we decided na why don’t you help us, let’s have this Philippine Fun Sale na sabay-sabay lahat magse-sale nationwide, hindi lang Metro Manila. One month,” Puyat said.

(We noticed that all of them have been helping us individually so we decided that why don’t they help us by having this Philippine Fun Sale where all malls will have a sale nationwide, not only in Metro Manila for one month.)

 

“It’s nationwide so it also attracts tourists to come here because there is a sale. And it’s also a promotion of local products,” she added.

 

Puyat said Philippine Fun Sale is one of the biggest projects the tourism department has in store for 2020 apart from its continuous campaign and initiatives on sustainable tourism.
