Shopping List: What you need to rule 2020 and where to find them

“I need to buy this to reach my new year goals” is the reason I often use when I buy gifts for myself this Christmas. I can abuse the reason a bit, but there’s some sense in making purchases for your resolutions. They can be a tool to improve your work, reminders of the trips you want to take, or just everyday pieces that reduce daily stressors.

This weekend, Dec 14 to 15, one of my favorite shopping parties, Soirée by Retail Lab, is happening at The Fifth at Rockwell. As a physical home to local brands, you will love how Retail Lab manages to put together various labels under one roof. It’s hard to leave the event empty-handed, so be ready with your card and a reusable tote bag. You’ll also get to meet a few entrepreneurs and discover their stories behind unique products. A few special discounts are available only at the event as well.

It can get a bit dizzying, let me warn you. If it’s where you plan to buy some last-minute Christmas gifts for your loved one, make a list. If you plan on doing your shopping for the new year, here are my suggestions.

The Gizmo Scout

A cute case makes me feel I have a new mobile. It also is something you need, especially if you’re the type to drop your phone. The Gizmo Scout offers trendy phone cases for a reasonable price. A necessary splurge to get things done with ease.

Revival the Label

I’m partial to how sundresses can save you on workdays that leave you without much time to put together a whole ensemble. Revival The Label offers fund prints along with some throwback patterns. Stock up on at least two so you can have something from day-to-night.

Twill Cavern

Comfy clothes that are for the beach or slow weekends will remind you to set aside time for yourself. I recently picked up linen rompers for Twill Cavern, and they’ve inspired me to book that summer getaway early.

Mode De Vie

Chic pieces, specifically for meetings and work endeavors, can cost a lot. But not with Mode De Vie. You’ll find the brand carries a lot of smart tops that can go with jeans and slacks.  They have dresses that are appropriate for semi-formal occasions, made by moms who know how hard it is to look good while fulfilling all the roles life demands of you.

Tareeh

The right accessories can spice up any outfit. I’m impressed by this brand as they offer handmade pieces of cubic zirconia and other semi-precious stones without a crazy price tag. You can also keep them in mind for unique gifts to give loved ones for different occasions.

Tutum

Don’t doubt how a pair of shoes can take you where you need to go. If you’ve got a shoe fetish, Tutum offers various styles every season without losing touch of designs that can go with many outfits or personalities.

Bloom & Topiary

Are you looking for skincare that’s simple, natural, and locally-made? Do you want 2020 to be the time to detox from so many skincare items so you can stick only to what’s best? Try out this Bloom and Topiary. In glass bottles, they offer serums, creams, and oils targeting for different needs, without so much fuss.

White Label Intimates

I think all of us need to catch up on some ZZZ’s and to change our sleeping habits. Do just that with a pair of silky pajamas from White Label Intimates.
