In 1994, The Bistro Group opened the first TGIFridays in the Philippines, bringing with it our favorite chicken fingers and mozzarella sticks and the mind-blowing concept of unlimited iced tea and soda. At that time, the 500-seater Glorietta branch was the largest in the world.
Since then, menu items have come and gone, more and more branches have opened, a redesign happened, but many things stayed the same including TGIFridays’ dedication to offering delicious comfort food and great service.
To celebrate its 25th birthday in the Philippines, TGIFridays threw a ’90s-themed party at the Glorietta Activity Center. This time, after years of birthday songs sung for customers, it was TGIFridays that got an energetic greeting from the big crowd that had gathered for the festivities.
The fun continued on Dec. 11 at all 25 TGIFridays branches nationwide: at 1 and 7 pm, all tables received a complimentary order of Ballpark Nachos and all guests got a drink of their choice, their way of saying thank you to diners who have supported them through the years.
“Twenty-five years of TGIFridays wouldn’t be as fun, exciting and memorable without our customers who have been loyal to the brand,” said Rechele Tiongson, VP for operations of The Bistro Group.
