Another year, another chance to update your look.

Much as I like to stick to what looks flattering, I also believe that beauty allows us to experiment freely.

The promise of the Spring-Summer 2020 runways is all gloss, sparkle, and a throwback to days of glory.

Matte lipsticks will still be on everyday rotation. But when it comes to pumping up your look, gloss is what you need. Don’t shy away from high-shine formulations for your lips.

Look to Gucci 2020 for inspiration. It’s all about the wet look for a luscious lip.

If you got confidence, you’ll love 2020 as euphoria-inspired makeup will be the rage. To match your shiny lips, eyes will be sparkly and kaleidoscopic.

The runways reflected this, too, via Armani’s sequined lips, Fendi’s glitter “tears,” and Rosie Assoulin’s colorful eyeliners.

If you like to play with contrasts, these looks go well with an all-black outfit or monochromatic looks. Trade in the usual black liner for colored ones while maintaining the rest of your look as you normally would.

Playful hairstyles

When it comes to hair, things can go simple or very playful. “Swoopy chops” are in, a look back to the days of Linda Evangelista.

If you gave in to a pixie cut in the last year or two and grew it out, now is the time to show off that length. Emphasize it using a GHD Platinum + Ink on Pink Styler.
