‘Art for the Archers’ at Podium to raise funds for education of the poor

“Art for the Archers” at the Art Lounge in The Podium, Mandaluyong City, is a project of La Salle Greenhills High School Batch ’70, in partnership with Galerie Joaquin. It will benefit of the Alternative Learning System (ALS) of La Salle Greenhills. The ALS is a program for poor and undereducated men and women that will allow them to finish and complete their education and receive a diploma for either grade school or high school within one year.

Exhibit consists of archer sculptures by Richard Buxani, green emerald-like glass sculptures by Marge Organo, sculptures by Michael Cacnio and Jerry Morada, and paintings by Juvenal Sansó, Dominic Rubio, Aileen Lanuza, Vincent De Pio, Benjie Mallari, Ombok Villamor, Averil Paras, Camille Ver, Milmar Onal, Michael Pastorizo, Art Lozano, Perfecto Palero Jr. and Katrina Cuenca.

Batch ’70 and the celebrating batches for Homecoming 2020 commit to a nurturing community of distinguished and morally upright gentlemen that harmonizes faith and life with contemporary knowledge for human development and social transformation. It commits to being socially responsible in building a just and stable nation, and building a community that will participate in actively improving the quality of life in Philippine society within the perspective of Christian ideals and values.

“Art for the Archers” is on view until Jan. 19, with a reception on Jan. 14, 6 p.m., at Art Lounge Manila, The Podium, Mandaluyong City; tel. 7239253.
