Kara Unso is collecting donations specifically for babies in evacuation centers which will also be delivered by Rock Ed Philippines. They need breast milk, baby bottles, baby food, diapers, sleeping mats, blankets, mosquito nets, baby wipes, sanitizers and alcohol. Children with special needs who are sensitive to sound also need ear mufflers or noise-canceling headsets. Carina Jimenez Suarez, who runs an animal sanctuary for rescued dogs, has been assisting animals including horses, cats, pigs, goats and ducks who have been rescued from affected areas and offering help to farms and other places that are serving as temporary shelters for the displaced animals. She has begun feeding programs and is looking for volunteers and donations of wet and dry dog food, horse feed, local honey, medicine, used ice cream containers that can be used to hold food, and water and cleaning materials. Cash will also be used to buy medicine for animals and high-protein dog food for puppies and lactating dogs. A horse trailer could be helpful too if someone has one they can lend. Help repack family food packs and relief items at the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office, IV-A Warehouse, Barangay Gregoria de Jesus, GMA, Cavite (in front of Barangay Hall), or National Resource Operations Center, Chapel Rd., Pasay City, from 8 a.m. onwards.
