Unrecognized causes of illness

If you ask any knowledgeable doctor what the possible causes of man’s illness are, he will most likely enumerate any or a combination of the following: pathogens, such as bacteria, microbes, virus, etc.; allergens like pollen, dust, cigarette smoke, carcinogens; or cancer producing chemicals or materials.

He may also point to some psychological factors like stress, worry, or sleeplessness, or to some genetic factors that may predispose some people to hypertension, asthma, heart disease, or even cancer.

If the cause of a particular illness cannot be explained medically, he may say the disease is just in one’s mind. Or it could be idiopathic, or due to some peculiarity which is true only for that individual but not for others. If the cause of hypertension cannot be traced to any abnormality in the physiology or internal organs of the patient, it is called “essential” hypertension, which only means that the cause is unknown.

I do not think that you can find any self-respecting scientifically trained allopathic doctor who will tell you that a patient’s illness is caused by a spirit, sorcery or black magic. If he did, he would be the laughingstock of his medical colleagues, and worse, his license may even be revoked!

And yet there is no doubt in my mind that there are certain types of illness  caused by negative spirits and elementals. These are especially true of ailments for which no physical cause or medical explanation could be found.

Let me give a few examples. There was the case of a former high-ranking bank executive who developed ugly and itchy canker sores all over his body. No amount of dermatological treatments worked. Two months passed, and still there was no sign he was improving.

When he visited his grandmother in Pangasinan, she told him that he had angered a group of gnomes or nuno sa punso or elementals. He did not see any connection between gnomes and his subsequent illness, until he recalled that it was after destroying a mound of what he thought were termites that he developed the illness.

His grandmother told him to make a peace offering of rice, chicken, cigarettes, soft drinks, etc., and place these on top of the place he had destroyed, and at the same time uttering certain oracion or power words. He did as he was told, and within 24 hours, all his canker sores dried up. “Now,” he told me, “I believe in dwarves!”

Severe stomach pain

The next case is a middle-aged Filipino-Chinese who had been suffering from severe stomach pain. He had undergone treatment in three different hospitals, but his symptoms continued. The doctors could find no cause for the severe pain after conducting all possible tests on his stomach.

Then the patient went to a very famous faith healer in Quezon City. I happened to be there at the time and witnessed the following incredible scenario: The healer asked the patient to lie down on the table. He then placed his right hand lightly on his stomach. Then the healer looked at me and said, “This man is not sick. He is a victim of kulam or witchcraft.”

After this unusual diagnosis, he proceeded to perform psychic surgery on the patient’s stomach, pulled something from inside it, and out came a dead cockroach! I was standing right beside the patient, in front of the healer. And I did not see the healer holding a cockroach before that. Then, after the incredible procedure, the man reported that his stomach pain was gone.

How does a scientifically trained doctor explain this if he were present during this process? First, he can say it is completely a trick or sleight-of-hand. Second, he may say the pain was psychosomatic, or purely imaginary. Third, he may say that the cure was a case of spontaneous remission of illness and not through intervention of the healer. Fourth, this could be a case of mass hypnosis. They were all fooled into thinking that a cockroach was taken out although nothing was really done.

I asked the healer: “How did you know that this man was a victim of witchcraft and not because of some physical cause?” He replied that the vibration of a victim of witchcraft is different from the vibration of one with a physical illness.

I asked further: “If an X-ray of the stomach of this patient were taken, would it show the presence of the cockroach?” he said, “No, because the cockroach was placed by the sorcerer in the etheric body of the patient and not in his physical body.” That’s why three hospitals found nothing wrong with him. And that is why no medical doctor will believe this story. The real cause of this illness cannot be found in any medical book.
