Her husband has taken up with an old flame | Lifestyle.INQ

Dear Emily,

When I threw my husband out of our house over a year ago, it was just to clear my head and teach him a lesson—not to get rid of him for good!

He resumed an affair with an old girlfriend of his from college.

This woman had just returned from the United States after her divorce from her American husband. Her grown kids chose to remain with their father. We all used to be friends from school when she first stole my then boyfriend, now my husband, from me. But she left him anyway when she met this Peace Corps volunteer who swept her off her feet and broug ht her with him abroad.

That was decades ago, and I didn’t think she’d get to hurt me a second time by hounding my husband again. He looks good for his age and has a successful business. He has forgotten how this woman broke his heart and how I saved him from depression then. I took him back without rancor and gave him a happy family.

Since he abandoned me over a year ago, my heart is still bitter and hurt. I think about them happy together and I feel my heart being stabbed again and again! I now know why crimes of passion are committed and understand how being blinded with rage can make one commit murder.

That’s probably how you and a million others would react when loved ones go astray!

It’s too late now to play the blame game. But it’s been said that women should never kick their husbands out when they’re caught playing around. Instead, make them feel free by putting them on a mile-long leash so they can do what they want. They’d come back home anyway after their craving has been sated.

Men love their homes and will always find their way back no matter how long and winding the road is.

But instead of wishing them a gory ending, think of something creative that will earn you pots of money. Remember the movie “Heartburn,” the bestselling book/Hollywood movie that Nora Ephron created when her husband fooled around while she was heavily pregnant? Your novel may not happen, but that can be a thought. Don’t get mad, it’s said… get even.

Stop feeling miserable because wrinkles latch on to misery, big time! Travel and spend his money! Have fun with your craziest friends! Go on dreamy dates! Do anything to help you forget those awful forgettables! Just don’t make life any shorter!
