How to age like J. Lo

The moment I saw the Super Bowl Halftime show, I knew what everyone was thinking: How does one age like Jennifer Lopez?

Granted, the woman has an entire team working on her fitness, skincare, makeup and costume. Still, we can’t help but be inspired to look our best as we age. For J. Lo, it feels like 50 is the new 20 because she can wear skintight Versace suits and do complicated pole dance routines. If that’s your goal, too, what’s the harm?

Sun protection

Skin is very important on your journey to keep a youthful look. I’ve lamented how the first rule of caring for your skin is to stay out of the sun. This means you have to choose your outdoor activities wisely. Try to avoid it as much as you can.

Le Tan Coconut Lotion

But if you can’t, double up on sunscreen. I’m a big fan of Australian brands like LeTan, whose products include a Coconut SPF 50 Lotion that smells yummy and makes you want to hit the beach.

A lot of people also loved J. Lo’s long locks during the performance. She owes it to celebrity stylist Chris Appleton, who also does the hairstyles of Kim Kardashian, which has served as a peg for many beauty editorials. Don’t forget to give your hair some TLC.

Aveda Sun Care Protective Hair Veil

Luscious locks also exude youthfulness. Aveda Sun Care Protective Hair Veil has a lightweight formula that protects hair from sun damage.

If you have bad habits, time to get rid of them immediately. The thing about youth is that we all tend to abuse it. The habits we form now will either lead us to enjoy the rewards or suffer the consequences in our older years when it’s too late.

Hence, always hydrate no matter what. Use eye cream every night before the crow’s feet come.

Look for a good dermatologist and schedule a visit as often as recommended. These days, I go to a Belo Medical Clinic.

Belo Nutraceuticals Collagen

Collagen

Dr. Vicki Belo tackles skin concerns of all ages. She knows how certain age groups have specific problems. In your teens, you deal with oily skin and acne. In your 20s, you should look into treatments that will help ease you into your 30s and 40s. She always reminds people that it’s also what about what you ingest. Collagen should be on top of the list.

Dr. Belo says we start to lose collagen in our bodies from the age of 25. Collagen is the magic protein that gives your skin that bounce, elasticity and plumpness which is linked to looking young.

It’s not hard to make up for the lost collagen. Take a supplement daily with your coffee or preferred drink. The Belo Nutraceuticals Collagen Powdered Drink is a good one. One sachet in the morning is all you need to get a glow from within. Plus, you’re investing in your future by stocking up on the collagen you’ll need, especially as you blow out more candles on your cake.

Fresh Sugar Strawberry

Exfoliation

Exfoliation is likewise important. The skin slows down its cell turnover process, so it needs help.

You can start with something gentle, such as the Fresh Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash. It is a “dual-action scrub that cleanses and exfoliates while refining the look of pores to reveal smooth, balanced, brighter-looking skin.”You may find all of these a bit elementary, but I believe that when you start with the basics, you are bound to get it right.
