By partnering with David Beckham on the Ultraboost 19 DB99, Adidas has embodied the spirit of unleashing your potential with a fashion forward attitude
This November, Adidas joins forces with David Beckham to launch the Ultraboost 19 DB99 limited edition running shoes in tribute to the footballer’s epic rise to the top.
The name Ultraboost 19 DB99 was inspired by the initials of Beckham and the 99 stands for the year 1999, a year of particular importance to him. The design was inspired by the life story of Beckham, both looking to the past and to the future. In 1999, he married his wife and their eldest son was born. Also that year, he led his team to a number of important wins and helped his club claim the legendary UK Treble title.
“1999 was an important year for me in terms of both career development and personal life. So, this pair of shoes is extraordinarily special to me,” said Beckham in an interview. “The colors chosen for the design are white with a flash of orange. I have always loved white trainers.”
By partnering with Beckham on the Ultraboost 19 DB99, Adidas has embodied the spirit of unleashing your potential with a fashion forward attitude. DB99 is printed on the tongue label and on the sole of this limited edition pair. Compared with previous models, the Ultraboost 19 range has adopted a lighter fabric. The breathing pads on the sides and the sole have been enlarged to enable breathability. A streamlined shape has been used on the outline while smooth lines are found on the top and the sole. Without sacrificing style, the designers have strived to create a natural wearing experience.
