With so many things going on, how does one maintain a sense of “balance”? Just as the saying goes, “whatever you focus on, grows” hence, one must not only seek whatever brings joy or sparks passion but actually make time for it.
This is why multimedia and events agency, PenserQ has come up with an event series catering to “awakening passions” through engaging conversations and interesting discoveries. Having put up a variety of events for both local and international brands, PenserQ has been a consistent frontrunner when it comes to recognizing and adapting marketing trends to better communicate its clients’ messaging. Hence, it has made it is mission to go beyond the usual marketing led events and also put importance to making time for personal development and fulfillment.
Taking inspiration from the popular Italian dessert, the affogato, “Affogato Afternoons” is a series of talks/workshops featuring inspiring individuals/companies that will generously share their personal experiences and expertise to help others find/follow their own bliss in life.
Just like the dessert, Affogato Afternoons is the perfect “pick me up” for those who are looking for inspiration or are eager to try something new.
Affogato Afternoons at Coffee Lab
Partnering with Coffee Lab by Conlins Coffee as its event partner, Affogato Afternoons not only has a cozy location for its participants, they can also expect excellent coffee and treats for a more delightful afternoon.
As one of the leading distributors not just of premium coffee beans and speciality syrups but as well as coffee brewing equipment and accessories, Conlins Coffee takes its coffee appreciation to a higher level with the introduction of Coffee Lab. More than just a cozy cafe, it’s also a one-stop shop for every coffee lover’s needs.
For its first event this year, Affogato Afternoons collaborate with Lakan Lubi. A proudly local company which offers organic wellness products, Lakan Lubi has an interesting range of locally crafted, all natural products made from Virgin Coconut Oil.
Lakan Lubi’s Kei Sison was the guest speaker for the event and shared how her parents initially put up Lakan Lubi in 2003 to help combat the SARS epidemic. The company also serves as Kei’s father’s advocacy in helping coconut farmers by teaching them how to produce cold processed VCO and helping them market it. Kei’s father passed away in 2009 and her mother took over the business. Kei then took over in 2018 and formally named the business Lakan Lubi, which means “Coconut Emperor”, inspired by her father. Even though she took over in 2018, they only started with the Lakan Lubi brand in May 2019. They now create different all natural, organic wellness products and continue to spread awareness on the benefits of VCO both locally and globally.
She then shared the benefits of aromatherapy and of essential oils. There are oils that promote relaxation like lavender and chamomile, Energy boosting oils are mostly citrus based and some oils are for pain relief, colds and cough like eucalyptus. As for her personal favorites, Kei said that it depends on her need but she likes to use chamomile, lavender, and tangerine often.
After the talk, guests were taught how to make their own perfect blend using all natural ingredients.
The Perfect Blend certainly made for a welcome start to the Affogato Afternoons event series as it brought some much needed “calm” to a very hectic start of the year. Watch out for the next Affogato Afternoons event for more inspiring talks and fun workshops in the company of good people.
