Russia honors its soldiers, veterans and civilian personnel

On the occasion of Russia’s Armed Forces Day, the Russian Defense Attaché Office recently hosted a reception at Dusit Thani Hotel, Makati City.

The holiday honors service members, civilian personnel and veterans of the Russian Armed Forces. Russians take pride in the heroic deeds of the warriors, especially in the great battles of the Great Patriotic War.

In his welcoming remarks, Russia Ambassador Igor Khovaev reiterated the importance of military cooperation between Russia and the Philippines. “It is a historic occasion because we celebrate this holiday for the first time here in the Philippines,” he said. “This is a result of our joint efforts aimed at enhancing bilateral relations between our two nations.”—CONTRIBUTED INQ
