Lifestyle Asia is 30

Namedroppables from the alta sociedad set filled up Makati Shangri-La’s Red restaurant for the grand launch of Lifestyle Asia’s “25: The Best of Philippine Society,” dahlings.

The super-limited collector’s edition of the mag featured personalities, occasions and events since the magazine began in 1987, and marked the silver anniversary of the first glossy upscale magazine in the country.

Moi and my partner Johnny Litton are included in this special edition, together with Tingting Cojuangco, who was on the cover of the maiden issue and was trés visable mingling in the crowd with invitees and other high-profile people whose faces had graced the cover such as Katrina Ponce Enrile, Mikee and Sheila Romero, Marilou Koa, Alfred Ty, Ben Chan, Century’s Properties’ Joey Antonio and son Robbie Antonio, among others like them, dahlings.

“For the countdown to our anniversary, we planted trees for every page of the magazine, supported the activities of Gawad Kalinga and Habitat for Humanity, contributed to Make A Wish and the EJ Litton Foundation, because giving is an integral part of our celebration,” said editor in chief Anna Sobrepeña.

“John Maxwell said that giving is the highest form of living, and that’s exactly what Lifestyle Asia is about, living at its finest,” added Sobrepeña.

The champagne flutes of chilled Moet and Chandon were raised for a toast, while a copy of the special edition was presented to the famille of the late Exequiel Garcia, founder of Lifestyle Asia.

The party got on a roll with talented Bea Tantoco performing songs.

One of the socialites who was sipping a signature Belvedere cocktail remarked about the “three beautiful generations” before her. Women who had graced the cover of the magazine were there with their sons and daughters. Even one proud grandmother was with her grandson. “It’s like one big family affair,” she told moi.

It was an elegant happening and we called it a night—but not before loads of Lifestyle Asia’s 25th-anniversary book was sold out, dahlings.
