After debuting strongly last April with Barado, Tarzeer Pictures is back with another exhibit called Swoon.
“To shoot” means to kill or to wound. In Swoon, the antithetical is faithfully presented by eight Filipino photographers who attempt to encapsulate intimacy and exhibit amity between themselves and their subjects.
“Intimacy and photography go hand in hand, whether or not you intend it to,” said featured artist James Lontoc. “It’s a process of building bonds between subject and photographer, giving yourself and being willing to take what’s given to you. It takes trust and courage. When you have those, you make the warmest moments last forever.”
Joining James are Ralph Mendoza, Christine Chung, John Eric Bico, Raymond Paredes, Renzo Navarro, Regine David, and Cenon Norial III and Maverick Bernardo.
True to their mission of celebrating Filipino craftsmanship, culture and creative spirit, it is by this manifest that the three founders of Tarzeer- Enzo Razon, Gio Panlilio and Dinesh Mohnani – are continuously producing riveting exhibits that are aligned in the contemporary taste and psyche of local talents.
Swoon opens on September 22 (this coming Saturday) and will run till October 26 at 2288 Chino Roces Avenue Extension Makati.
