Lucy Hale may play a pretty little liar on TV, but during her one-on-one with Super, some minutes before she walked the runway for the Bench OJ Americana fashion show last Feb. 11, she was nothing but honest, candid and sincere.

She didn’t have set, memorized answers, was quick to commend unique questions, and even begged for some more time when she couldn’t come up with the perfect answer. Here’s the Hollywood star talking about lies and lying, portraying a guy in the future, how memorable her stay in the Philippines is, and the things she still wants to achieve.

What expectations did you have of the Philippines before you flew here?

I didn’t even really know what to expect because I haven’t been to Asia before. I haven’t really done a lot of traveling.

So what can you say about the country so far? What were your first impressions?

What I was really surprised about was how majority of the signs were in English and I just realized English is widely spoken here. It’s such a cool place. I don’t want to leave.

How do you feel about being chosen to endorse a big brand such as Bench?

So flattered and so honored! I’ve done my research on Bench before I signed on so I know how successful the brand is. Ben (Chan) has been so amazing to me. Even when I got here, there was this huge billboard. It’s crazy, it’s really insane. I’ve never experienced anything like this before.

What do you think about the clothes from Bench?

So cute!  (Shows the Bench items she’s wearing from head to toe) It’s my style. It’s cute but it’s comfortable. It’s affordable and it’s right up my alley. That is why I had to sign on to be endorsing them. You have to like the clothes, and I love them!

How would you describe your fashion style?

That’s a hard question for me to always answer because I am all over the place. I just like trying new things. One day I wake up and I want to be edgy and the next day I wake up and I want to be more boho. I’m always open to trying new things.

What’s the best thing about being part of “Pretty Little Liars”?

Oh man, I wouldn’t be sitting here in the Philippines if it wasn’t for the show! Just all the new experiences that I get to have and all the people I get to meet.

Obviously, I love acting and it’s really insane that I get to go to work every day and make believe. It’s really fun. I’m very, very lucky.

Not everyone knows that you sing. How is your singing career?

I just did a movie called “A Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song.” Music was actually my first love. I started out singing, which led me to acting, and it’s cool that it’s going full circle. My singing career, I think I can give you guys good news about that. I can’t say yet but there will definitely be music from Lucy in the future.

About “A Cinderella Story”: Can you relate to any of the Disney princesses?

Ooh, good question. I’ve never been asked that. I could answer Cinderella, but that would be the easy way out, though. I don’t know. Hmm, can we get back to that later? Because I want to come up with a good answer.

What’s the most recent lie you’ve told?

Oh God. That I can share? Oh God, I don’t know. Most probably to my mom. She gets worried about me going out in LA. She’s a mom. So sometimes, I’d say I stayed at home when I secretly went out and had fun with my friends.

What’s the biggest lie about you?

Another good question! There’s a lot of misconceptions about people in the entertainment industry in general, so a lot of people probably think I think of myself highly, but no. People who watch the show, I want to be their friend. Even on Twitter. I talk to them like they’re my friends. I never want people to think they can’t come up and approach me because I’m just a girl that’s on a TV show, that likes to act.

Do you feel the pressure to be a role model?

I’ve never gotten to what I do having that intention, but I feel very fortunate. I feel like I can set a good example and stand for things that I believe in. I hope I am a good role model.

So do you have an answer to the princess question already?

Cruella de Ville? Hahaha! Ariel, because she’s really curious and she wants to see the world. And I totally do. That’s a really good answer!

If you could play any other character on “Pretty Little Liars,” who would it be?

Alison, for sure. I think she’s got so many layers and so many secrets. I mean who doesn’t want to play the mean girl? It would be so fun. She’s really interesting.

I agree.

I want to play Ezra.

Really?

I am kidding! He’s the guy teacher! Hahaha!

But that’s possible, right?

It’s true! Glenn Close just played a man and she got nominated!

What else do you want to do?

Where do I begin? I love fashion, and I want to have my own line. And there’s a coffee shop in LA and I would love to own a place like that. Just own it. My aunt—she’s an amazing baker—if she wants to work there, she can work there. I want kids.

Will we see you again here soon?

You better! I want to come back. If things go my way… I can’t say it but yes, I’ll be here.

What’s the best thing about your stay here in the Philippines?

All was so amazing. I have to say Ben (Chan) has been so kind. He’s throwing me a show, it’s got my name on the wall. And everyone is giving me gifts. I’ve never been treated like this before. It’s so crazy. Like, security? We’ve got escorts here. I’ve never experienced anything like this before. Really cool.

So is it safe to say that you like the Philippines?

I think it’s safe to say that I love the Philippines.
