Leading appliance maker Hanabishi donated water dispensers, electric fans and ovens to the Philippine General Hospital, a new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) referral center. Hanabishi also donated 40 stand fans for the COVID-19 facility tents built by architect William Ti. The tents will be donated to different hospitals in Metro Manila.
Hanabishi sent 10,000 cans of sardines for ABS-CBN’s Pantawid ng Pag-Ibig donation drive to aid families struggling because of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ). The donation aided families in Caloocan, Valenzuela, Malabon, Navotas, Quezon, San Juan, Mandaluyong and Manila.
“Let us look for ways to help each other out during these challenging times. We should put our best practices and resources to respond to the needs of our fellow Filipinos,” said Jasper Ong, Hanabishi president.
Ayala Foundation handed out “survival packs” of rice and other food items to 170 households of the indigenous T’boli community in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato. Jenita Eko, president of the Lake Sebu Indigenous Women Weavers Association, Inc. (Lasiwwai), thanked the foundation.
“The convergence of resources is a great help to deliver enough supplies for Lasiwwai weavers and to reach out to nonmember T’nalak weavers,” said Eko. “Thank you for sharing your blessings with the T’boli tribe in Lake Sebu.” —Lito B. Zulueta INQ
