Celebrating the hero in everyone: This heartwarming video shows ‘BayaniHands’ coming together in solidarity

If there’s one thing that Filipinos are known for, it’s our ability to be there for each other and make the best out of a difficult situation. As we face a global pandemic, we’re all put up to the test on how to defeat an invisible enemy and come out stronger as a nation.

With the COVID-19 crisis putting many parts of the country in lockdown, practicing precautionary measures to stop further contagion of the disease is one of the best things we can do right now to help our frontliners, particularly our health workers, who are tirelessly sacrificing their lives in order to save others from this life-threatening disease.

Aside from staying home and following social distancing guidelines, everyone is encouraged to make handwashing a habit to avoid possible infection and transmission of COVID-19. Our hands come into contact with various items and surfaces that put us at risk of contracting and spreading diseases. But with proper handwashing, our safe hands can be used to protect others, soothe, comfort, and do the work needed for us to finally put an end to this health crisis.

With this in mind, P&G through Safeguard Philippines continues its campaign to embrace the power of coming together in solidarity against the disease. In partnership with the Philippine Red Cross, they launched the P&G Safeguard BayaniHands Project.

Joining hands for a cause

In an effort to encourage solidarity among people amid the global pandemic, P&G Safeguard Philippines joins hands with the Philippine Red Cross in the fight against COVID-19.

The Philippine Red Cross has been a vital humanitarian partner of the government in the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act. By providing the necessary equipment to healthcare workers and communities to combat the disease, they have helped a lot of people during these trying times. And this partnership with P&G’s Safeguard Philippines will only help in furthering their efforts.

The BayaniHands Project culminated in a video production that showcases people from all walks of life as they do their parts in helping alleviate this health crisis. From a little girl staying at home to the medical workers at the hospitals, these real-life shots show how Filipinos come together to help each other during these trying times.

Safeguard Philippines created the video with multiple directors. It took a total of three days to shoot with an eight-day post-production process. Because of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) implemented in many parts of the country, the production team had to be a bit more creative in getting the videos without having to leave their own homes.

Given this, the directors had to give instructions remotely to ensure that the needed footages were taken.

All in all, this resulted in a heartwarming video that brings together the idea of safe hands working in solidarity to fight against COVID-19–a message that the company hopes to share with Filipinos everywhere.

Through this campaign, Safeguard Philippines and the Philippine Red Cross can continue their goal in working towards a safe nation–and remind everyone that together, we can get through this, hand in hand.
