Creative cord holders

While cooped up at home due to the quarantine, we rediscovered old hobbies or developed news ones. Bank executive Michelle Y. Dee has gone back to coloring books. She said she has been “coloring happy images and transforming them into organizing tools”—that is, she has made them into cord holders.

She used the following materials: coloring books or prints, coloring markers, toilet paper roll (the thicker and sturdier the better), ruler, cutter, glue, thick flat rubber band, paper clips, cutting mat or a thick base such as a pad of paper to protect the surface when cutting.

Measure the height and length of the toilet paper roll. Add about two inches excess to the width to apply the glue on.

Tip: Fancy up your prints by gluing on some glitter.

Using the ruler as your guide, cut through the dimensions with your cutter.

Apply glue along the edge of the print.

Roll the toilet paper roll on the print till edges overlap and hold in place till dry.

If you need a smaller cord holder, use a flat rubber band to mark the length. Secure the band in place with a paper clip. Use the cutter and cut along the rubber band’s line.

TV and electronic cords are now better organized. Or use as a hairdryer cord tamer!

Roll the toilet paper roll on the print until edges overlap and hold in place until dry.
