You might be wondering why reel and real life couple Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil are looking forward to meeting congressman Rodante Marcoleta and his wife.

The couple must have learned of when Cong. Marcoleta admitted that his wife is an avid viewer of their now-defunct TV series “Make It With You”. Cong. Marcoleta’s admission came last Monday during the hearing for the ABS-CBN franchise.

“Hi congressman Marcoleta,” Soberano initially greeted in a short video uploaded by her manager Ogie Diaz today, July 8, in his official Facebook account. The video has also been shared by the official ABS-CBN News Twitter account.

“Hello po. Magandang araw po sa inyo congressman. Gusto lang po naming magpasalamat ni Mrs. Marcoleta po for supporting ang watching ‘Make It With You’,” Gil said.

(Hello and good day, congressman. We would like to thank your for supporting and watching “Make It With You”.)

“Yes po,” Soberano said. “Cute na cute po kami ni Quen doon sa ikinuwento ninyong journey ninyo na sinasamahan n’yo lagi siya, sinunusportahan n’yo po siya sa panonood ng ‘Make It With You’.”

(We find it cute when you narrated your journey in supporting your wife as she watches our show.)

Soberano also said she and Gil are looking forward to seeing the congressman and his wife in person.

“And we would really love to meet you especially Mrs. Marcoleta soon,” she said. “We’re very grateful for the support and we wish you guys all the best.”

Later, Soberano and Gil articulated their plea to give ABS-CBN a chance at its franchise renewal bid.

“And gusto lang po namin kumatok sa puso ninyo na baka sakaling mabigyan ninyo ng chance ang ABS-CBN,” Soberano said. (We want to knock on your hearts, just in case you might give ABS-CBN a chance.)

“Sa lahat po ng mga congressman (to all congressmen), ABS-CBN deserves a chance. Maraming-maraming salamat po din sa inyo,” Gil said. (Thank you very much to all of you.)

Fans reacted with enthusiasm on the video post of ABS-CBN News on Twitter.

“Be Proud LizQuen.. Mahal nila trabaho nila at mahal nila kayo na taga supporta. Kailangang ibalik ang Make it with you. Kakabitin,” commenter @KahelJay lauded the couple.

(LizQuen loves their work and they love their supporters. They need to return “Make It With You” on the air again. It all left us hanging.)

Another proud fan is @J35334331 who commented, “Grabe nakakaproud kayo!! Gagawin niyo talaga lahat ng makakaya niyo kahit pa sa maliit na paraan madinig lang kayo. Deadma lang sa sasabihin ng mga bashers kung para naman sa mga abs cbn employees. Such a brave couple!! #Lizquen.”

(We’re so proud of you. You will do anything in your own little way just to be heard. Don’t mind the bashers, this is also for ABS-CBN employees.)

Another commenter, @ags_101275, meanwhile theorized on why Cong. Marcoleta reacted when “Make It With You” hit the chopping board.

“Kaya siguro ganun reaction ni Cong Marcoleta kasi naman pina stop na ng ABS ang pag air ng program ni LizQuen..marami kaya ang nalungkot nung di na pinalabas yun.bitin,” the commenter figured.

(Probably, Cong. Marcoleta reacted because ABS-CBN stopped the airing of LizQuen’s soap opera. Many indeed felt sad when its airing got halted. It’s hanging.) JB
