“So happy with how my little project turned out. And of course, I made sure to utilize Sorsogon’s treasures so our pili curtains are just cherry-on-top! #MahalKongSorsogon,” she stated on July 12, as she posted a photo capturing an al fresco sala where pili nut curtains were used.
On the same day, she was seen with an elderly woman showing off her skills in making the bag’s handle.
“My beautiful and hardworking friend showing me how they were able to upcycle the pili nuts and turn them into something useful. Home and decor products for #LoveMarieXSorsogon will soon be available. Can’t wait to share their talent with you!” Evangelista said.
Most of Evangelista’s followers on Instagram lauded the actress’ effort to promote a native Bicol product.
One @einosasameurfina noticed how Escudero’s love for the arts surfaced in her love for pili nuts as she commened, “Wow po ms heart napaka lapit niyo po talaga sa mga arts (you really are a supporter of the arts) I hope their products are on shopee. I want to buy the bag you posted awhile ago.”
Probably a native of Bicol, @marryknollsfashion praised pili nuts’ sturdy quality as she said, “I really like pili nuts and pili shell so hard and strong …quality bags …i miss matnog sorsogon Bicol.”
One @mamavhaklah lauded Escudero’s effort and said, “Thanks for supporting and promoting local products. May your tribe prosper! This is the type of content that uplifts Filipino entrepreneurs!”
Another, @poeticisolation, praised Escudero’s effort as something that reflects kindness, “Super admire how you are supporting local products of Sorsogon and helping the community for the world to see. Even if I’m from Cebu this kindness is radiating. All the best. @iamhearte.”
Meanwhile, @ms_marie_f expressed her intention to buy, proving just how effective Evangelista’s endorsement can be: “I’m interested in the pili curtains. Please advise how and where to buy.” JB
