An impassioned Enchong Dee made a promise that he will continue the fight for his home network, ABS-CBN, after it was denied its franchise renewal by Congress.
In his Twitter and Instagram pages today, July 14, Dee reiterated his burning desire to continue the fight he has started doing when he was a teenager.
“I’ve been fighting for my country since I was 13,” he mused. (It’s not easy and there is no certainty but it feels good in the heart.)
Having said that, the actor further vowed that he will continue fighting without surrender, while urging fellow artists to also speak up.
“I will do the same for the company which I called home for 15 years. Being bashed is a small price to pay to be in the right side of history.
(I will not stop talking about wrongdoings which surround us. To my co-workers at ABS-CBB, I will be with you until our home opens again. And to my fellow artists, this is not the time to be silent, let’s be true to the word #kapamilya.)
Dee’s Twitter followers seemingly felt the actor’s sentiment as they expressed their agreement with him.
“True,” said @issacharian.
(If most of Filipinos are shouting for the Kapamilya network, why can’t other artists do this for the company? I salute you, Enchong!)
One @ItsMeGrayKnight advised the actor to “Stay Strong @enchongdee777 you’re not alone in this war.”
Seemingly a Cebuano, @Popo90Tabili agreed with the actor’s sentiments, saying, “[Kasama nyo kami sir [Enchong]!
(We join you, sir Enchong! If not the whole of Cebu, most of us are #KapamilyaForever.)
For @BaliliCamilo, helping each other is necessary as he tweeted back, “Tama magtulungan dapat.” (Right, we need to help each other.)
On the same day, Dee retweeted thespian Bart Guingona’s post which said, “Ang paligid ng ABS-CBN ang ating ‘bagong EDSA.’
(The area of ABS-CBN is our “new EDSA.” Let’s see each other there on July 15, Wednesday, starting 3 p.m. Let’s spread this so many may know and go.) JB
