Agot Isidro’s ‘We Heal Aswang’ didn’t get love from admin supporters

Singer Agot Isidro may have had it coming, particularly from supporters of the Duterte administration which she has been critical of.

She was relentlessly bashed recently by netizens when she toyed with the government pandemic motto “We Heal as One” and replaced it with something that sounds similar: “We Heal Aswang.”

On her official Twitter account, the singer posted a short video on July 27, showing President Rodrigo Duterte make some of his controversial pronouncements about COVID-19. The video also captured some reports about the dreaded disease.

In sarcasm, Isidro wrote “we heal aswang.” For many, Isidro’s caption did not come off as witty. She then caught the collective ire of some Twitter users who voiced out their disgust about the word play. And since she played with the term, some netizens likewise toyed with her name.

One @jamvihar in his comments said, “Hoy, aling LAOSIAN ANGOT ISIDRO… Punta k ibang planeta pra hanap mo gusto mong government….” (Hey miss has-been, foul-smelling Agot Isidro… go to another planet to find your preferred government.)

Another commenter, one @islandboy_29, thinks the singer is seeking attention, the supposed reason why she’s barking on social media, as he said, “Ngawa ka ng ngawa..palibhasa sarado ma network mu kaya gigil ka kay digong…” (You keep complaining. All because your network has closed, that’s why you’re so angry at Duterte.)

Meanwhile, one @ajkade02 scolded Isidro for being a perfectionist, saying, “Ang miserable siguro ng buhay mo…”

Meanwhile, the singer-actress appears unfazed, as she responded to the bashers on the same day, “To all the trolls and bashers today, [welcome] to my timeline. Feel free to comment. Ayan ha, may ambag na ako sa sambayanang DDS (There you go, I already have a contribution to the DDS nation).” JB
