BEAUTY REVIEW: It's all about celebrating your skin | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

Light bounces off healthy, glowing skin in a certain way—the same way that educates our highlighter application. Proper diet and sufficient hydration are essential, but there’s also something to be said about dedicated skincare.

This month, there’s an uptick on skincare lines that are all about loving your skin.

Laura Mercier released their Skincare Essentials Collection. This 10-piece collection is a skincare buff’s fantasy. The items included are grouped into three categories: Cleanse, Prep, and Targeted Treatments. I’m especially impressed that the entire collection is made with no SLS or SLES, mineral oil, formaldehydes, and other ingredients that could cause irritation.

I quickly reached for the Balancing Foaming Cleanser. It’s friendly on my oily-skin as it doesn’t leave it feeling stripped and tight. Every other day, I follow it up with the Refining Crème Polish for a deeper exfoliation. It gives that satisfying feeling of physical exfoliation with the cellulose microbeads but doesn’t leave the skin parched either.

Every morning and evening, I use the Illuminating Eye Cream. I like how it quickly absorbs into the skin with just a few pats. It doesn’t leave my undereye area feeling sticky or glossy, even if I put a little too much by accident.

I finish up my evening routine with the Nourishing Rose Oil. It’s lightweight, only fragranced by the natural scent of the rose oil, and feels nourishing. I massage it in with my at-home microcurrent facial device for that at-the-spa feeling.

Kiehl’s, on the other hand,  is now entering LazMall this month. You can “Add to Cart” their star products like the Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Facial Wash, Ultra Facial Cream, Midnight Recovery Serum, and the Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Serum, among their other clinically-proven solutions.

I can’t shut up about the Midnight Recovery Concentrate. I have at least two bottles on hand. I find that it is soothing when you have a couple of late-nights, and your skin feels dehydrated. The formula is quite potent, so just one to two drops is enough for the face. Add a drop as you go down to your neck and decolletage. You will feel the effect immediately—as soon as the product absorbs on your skin.

I’m excited to give the Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Serum a go. Now that my skin isn’t breaking out, I want to address the post-acne marks, dark spots, and hyperpigmentation with this serum. The Clearly Corrective Serum only gives results as its made with no optical diffusers. It contains activated Vitamin C, one of the most sought-after skincare ingredients against discoloration.

When you’ve perfected your skincare, you’ll find that your makeup should be something special. The NARS Tinted Glow Booster is for those who want to celebrate their skin. You get color-correcting and complexion-enhancing properties plus a subtle glow. I’m a fan of how versatile this product is. You can use it on its own or as a primer for your makeup. You can also concentrate it a little bit more on your cheekbones, forehead, and nose for a lit-from-within highlight.
