Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton honors Boseman by striking the “Wakanda Forever” pose.

The death of Chadwick Boseman sent shock waves across the world, on a year that has felt like nothing but shock after shock. His sudden passing was a big surprise because no one—not even his “Black Panther” director Ryan Coogler—knew that he had been battling colon cancer for the past four years.

We look back at everything Boseman has done since 2016 with renewed amazement and deeper respect. Because he did all that while fighting for his life.

Tributes have poured in from friends, costars and fans from all corners of the globe including the Philippines. On this page are some of them.

What a short life, what a beautiful life, what an incredible life that has touched so many others.
